Devastating Town took a woeful Spurs side apart at Portman Road 3-0, but it could have been even more. Town took the lead through a Marcus Stewart goal in the 8th minute. Second half goals from Alun Armstrong and substitute Jamie Clapham sealed the result. But for a number of excellent saves from Neil Sullivan, the crossbar preventing James Scowcroft and a disallowed goal from Titus Bramble Town might have won by even more. |

Boxing Day brought one of the best games seen at Portman Road so far this season. Town allowed visitors Chelsea to gain a two-goal lead against the run of play before determinedly clawing back to draw 2-2. The Blues almost scraped a late win with the ball cleared off the line twice in injury time. |

Town's squad for Manchester United is pretty much as expected. Tony Mowbray is included in the squad as a replacement for the still injured John Scales, but with Venus, Hreidarsson, McGreal and Bramble all ahead of him even a place on the bench is unlikely. |

Marcus Stewart will almost certainly be back in Town's line-up for Saturday's top of the table clash with Manchester United at Old Trafford. The striker missed out at Maine Road on Tuesday with a thigh strain picked up against Southampton, but has recovered enough to start against United. Alun Armstrong is likely to join Stewart's City replacement David Johnson on the bench after missing out at Maine Road due to being cup-tied. |

The Blues marched to yet another famous victory as a superb Marcus Stewart goal won the day at Anfield. While it was backs to the wall at times, it was another huge performance showing spirit aplenty as well as some lovely passing. |

Town continue to await Alun Armstrong's decision on whether he becomes a Town player. The Middlesbrough man returned to the North-East yesterday to discuss the move with his wife. Prior to this he had passed a medical and the Blues had even called a press conference for 3pm. However, the former Stockport man needed more time and is currently mulling Town's offer over. |

Town skipper Matt Holland is a worry for tomorrow's clash with Derby County. Holland suffered an ankle injury in the Worthington Cup match with Coventry, but will make his usual huge effort to be fit, although there are no reports so far of any trips to the healing fountains of Brightlingsea. If he makes it the Derby game will see Matt make his 187th consecutive appearance for Town. |

Reports are coming in that Richard Wright may be a doubt for tomorrow's Worthington Cup clash with Coventry. Wright is suffering from a wrist injury and didn't train today and is rated as doubtful for tomorrow. |
